Introducing... Makeup by Paul

Describe your Business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I have been a professional makeup artist for almost 25 years specializing in fashion, print, and weddings – over 5,000 brides to date. I specialize in giving my clients the look they desire. I have always mixed different products together to achieve the ideal texture, color or match. Unable to find a line of cosmetics that delivered exactly what I needed, I developed my own – Makeup By Paul Cosmetics. “One size fits all” does not always apply, so I also offer my clients a Custom Blend Menu during the consultation. Within minutes we can create the perfect foundation, concealer, powder, blush, lipstick, lip gloss or eye shadow.
What was your first job, and what did you learn from the experience?
I was a waiter at a famous Hollywood restaurant called La Cage Aux Folles. I was amazed while watching ordinary male actors transform themselves into glamorous women. As a struggling artist, I discovered an exciting new medium – makeup!
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
I am a member of the Lili Clair Foundation and have volunteered my service for many of their charitable functions.
Why is your staff the best in the business?
We are all dedicated, professional and observe confidentiality.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
Winning “Makeup Artist of the Year” Award in Las Vegas; creating my own cosmetic line; and my long-lasting relationships with clients.
Who is a role model in business or in life, and why?
My father, for his strong principles and ethics.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
What’s your hidden talent?
My willingness to accept a new challenge.
What’s your biggest job perk?
Making ladies feel good about themselves. I feel I have one of the best jobs in the world.
If you could be any other profession, what would it be?
What’s your favorite childhood memory?
Visiting family in England, and skiing in Lake Tahoe.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Mary Kay, a leader and an inspirational force to so many women. She was creative, and not only believed in herself, but she believed in others.
Customer service is?
The bottom line!
