I’ve heard it said that a good day starts with a good breakfast.
That can’t be closer to the truth than at C&T’s Restaurant in Pollock Pines. Family owned and operated, C&T’s Restaurant was born out of owners Twyla and Chuck’s passion for good down-home food.
When we arrived on a Saturday morning, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff and seated in the well-lit dining area. The special of the morning was Strawberry Waffles, which our daughter didn’t hesitate to order. The healthy portion of fresh-cut strawberries over warm, crispy and light waffles came out with everyone’s eyes on them. I chose a hearty breakfast staple, the Country Chicken Fried Steak, and my wife went with the Eggs Benedict. Both came with large sides of seasoned country potatoes or golden brown hashbrowns and your choice of toast or biscuits and gravy. The portions were large, so large that none of us finished and we all stayed full far into the afternoon. Even our son’s Junior Bacon and Cheddar Omelet was enough to fill most modest appetites. The lunch and dinner menus both looked appetizing as well, but I doubt I would have stomach room to return in the same day.
C&T’s Restaurant serves up great hearty dishes all day, and has no problem obliging the largest of appetites. With their convenient location in the shopping center next to Safeway, C&T’s is close to the freeway and just a short drive for those camping at the Sly Park Campgrounds who want to take a break from campfire food after a long day on Jenkinson Lake. C&T’s Restaurant is the type of place where regulars are known by first name, customers are like family, and the food is satisfyingly good!
