Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Gracefully Vintage is a mixture of vintage-style, French-inspired, and shabby-chic re-finished and re-upholstered pieces…that I do myself. My little shoppe located in the old Wells Fargo Horse Stables on Sutter Street carries furniture, gifts and many homemade items. I love to be creative. I take custom requests for fancy and stylish hostess aprons, custom pillows, frilly party hats, embroidery, upholstery; and I welcome many more requests. Gracefully Vintage also offers Cricut cuts and a place to host a “Fancy Frilly Princess” or “Mad Tea” party for your little ones. And the business absolutely found me – offering a place to provide reasonably priced pieces, take custom requests, share ideas, and inspire and show my passion for doing what I love.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

The holiday tree lighting in Historic Folsom. I love seeing all the people, the chill in the air, and Mr. & Mrs. Clause walking the street…I just love it all.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I look at each situation or encounter as a learning experience. No matter how tough, I figure I can take something from it and better myself…and take one day at a time.

And finally, customer service is…?

Customer service is treating each customer how you would want to be treated. I have this shoppe and do this type of work because I absolutely love being creative and sharing ideas. I charge reasonable prices, offer desserts, water and coffee. I love to share ideas and my how-tos, and chitchat about my vintage finds or what I’m working on next. I also allow my customers to make requests and I turn them around quickly. I am so proud of my hometown of Folsom, and giving customers a place to go to make special requests for a variety of things that you can’t find anywhere else. From custom upholstery, Cricut cuts, painting, gift items, party hats, aprons by design and more. If I don’t do it, I’m eager to learn and love trying to figure out how.
