Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I was born into this business. My grandfather and father led me on this path, starting at the young age of nine.
What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?
At nine years old, the first job I ever had was setting fence post with my grandfather. I learned that blisters do heal and that I enjoyed working with my hands, watching the creation unfold, and feeling instant gratification in my work.
Why is your staff the best in the business?
My staff is the best in the business because they enjoy working with and for me. It makes what we provide a “team effort” in the areas of quality and customer service. I treat those who work for me like family and they return that treatment. We’re also a diverse group in both age and sexual orientation. My team consists of John Gross and Caprice Streich – both highly conscientious and dedicated workers, who come with a vast degree of hands-on work experience. Also, my wife works in the office while raising our two girls, providing us with a nice family approach to doing business!
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
My wife and two girls; a second degree black belt in Shotokan karate; obtaining my contractor’s license; successfully creating the Demo Hammer to help in the construction business; and running the business of Demolition Tools.
What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?
Folsom Lake with the Streich family. Our families have become close and they take us to the lake for wakeboarding and surfing fun! We also go to events on Sutter Street and love spending time in Old Town Folsom.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Bruce Lee. He was a determined person who beat the odds. I see him as an excellent role model; he inspired me to take on martial arts.
