In the mood for some Southeast Asian cuisine one chilly evening in El Dorado Hills, my family and I stumbled across Thai Orchid Cuisine.
The very sophisticated and alluring dining area accompanied us, along with our waitress who greeted us promptly. Thai food is something I previously had never experienced, so I was quite ecstatic to let my taste buds endure this well-known spicy cuisine. Being a huge seafood lover, I skimmed the wide selection of soups, curries, noodles and fried rice as I indecisively selected the Thai Orchid Seafood Medley. This house specialty dish consisted of shrimp, calamari, red snapper and king crab legs with asparagus, snow peas, bell pepper and sweet basil leaves...all in a tasteful green curry.
While waiting for my entrée, I noticed the sweet tooth dessert menu that included Mango Sticky Rice and Fried Banana Ice Cream. Yum, yum and yum! Before my entrée arrived, I put in a request for the Fried Banana Ice Cream. Scoping the restaurant, I noticed the vibrant red walls, traditional décor, and a very happy chef cooking up all of our anticipated dishes. Immediately after doing so, I was delighted with the perfect arrangement of cooked veggies and green curry marinated seafood. Rice, being a common side dish necessity with Thai food, was also served alongside my delicious dish. The perfectly steamed brown rice along with the cooked vegetables filled my appetite to a pleasant perfection. A bit hesitant on the spice level of the curry, I eased my way into what turned out to be just right on my hot scale. For those who are extreme spicy food lovers, you can request your own level of fire when ordering. The Fried Banana Ice Cream dessert topped off the night and left me stuffed and quite pleased with our Thai dining experience. If you’re in the El Dorado Hills or Folsom area, this welcoming Thai restaurant is definitely a must for everyone to enjoy with a friend, relative or coworker!
