Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I’ve loved consignment shopping ever since one of my best friends Carol introduced me to it many years ago. I worked in real estate for 15 years; wearing hats as a mortgage broker, realtor, and property manager over the years, I learned looking your best when working with clients is essential. I discovered consignment shopping when best friend Carol let me in on her little secret. Unfortunately, my dear friend Carol lost her battle with breast cancer just a couple of years ago. That prompted me to put the gears in motion…and the outcome was The Green Armoire.
What was the first job you ever had? What did you learn?
I worked at Baskin Robbins Ice Cream when I was 16. I learned that customer service is something you truly need to learn and master to be successful.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
First and foremost, being a mom. College, career, and all of my life before kids really seemed to be insignificant once I had children.
What’s your hidden talent?
I love to draw and paint, and recently have started to paint on glass.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
I always go to God first. It’s taken me a long time to realize that I’m just a passenger in this life bus he has me on, and that each stop or bump in the road has a reason.
What’s your biggest job perk?
Being able to socialize and meet incredible women all day! I’m super social. I love to talk and meet new people, and some amazing women have come into my life since opening my doors.
If you could be in any other profession, what would it have been?
My dream job would be naming the nail polish colors for OPI – how fun would that be?
And finally customer service is?
Treat people with respect, a smile, and be genuine.
