Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I think it found us. We have lived in Folsom for many years and we used to frequent Yogurt Delite when it was the only yogurt shop in town. It came up for sale at a time we were looking to invest in a small business. It was a match!

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

Our business harkens back to a time when business owners lived, shopped and socialized in your town. We are very involved in the local community. With three school-aged students, we are very involved in fundraisers with the local schools. We have sponsored our children’s sports teams. We run into our customers all over town and we love meeting our neighbors and serving them a treat to brighten their day.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Well, that’s easy. Free frozen yogurt. As much as you can eat! We like trying crazy combinations and then recommend them to our customers. Recently we made an Orange Freeze. A little vanilla, a little sorbet, and a citrus soda. Wow, that was good!

Where do you get going when the going gets tough?

Our backyard. We live in an older part of Folsom and have mature landscaping. After a long day, we love to relax in our backyard.

What life accomplishments are you the most proud of?

Our three children. They have learned a lot in helping with our business. Life will be full of ups and downs – good days and bad. We are blessed with great students, and the business has helped teach them a work ethic that will help them later in life.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

We love Folsom Lake. There are always so many fun things to do at the lake. From bike rides along the trails to cooling off on a hot day, there is nothing better than Folsom Lake.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

We have always been a fan of Concerts in the Park. Last year, we helped sponsor this great local event. J.R. even dressed up in our penguin costume and gave out coupons.

And finally, customer service is...?

More than a motto to us. As local residents, we feel compelled to give the best possible service and the best and freshest products to our customers.

Do you know that our editorial is not paid for, nor can it be purchased? In fact, our Introducing and Dine reviews are not paid advertisements. If you’d like your business profiled, please email Wendy Sipple at wendy@stylemg.com. Once we determine when your business will be featured, we will contact you to schedule a time to come out and take a photograph. Thank you!
