Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
Twenty-eight years ago, I was uncertain about my career path. A friend asked, “What do you love to do?” I replied, “Work out.” So he said, “Why don’t you get a job helping other people work out?” I’ve been teaching people how to exercise now for more than 28 years. One-On-One Fitness offers exercise programs for everyone, from youth to seniors. Whether your goal is to increase muscle, reduce body fat, or simply move with less pain—I can show you how.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
My credentials and experience as a health and fitness professional. I’m certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer, performance enhancement specialist, and corrective exercise specialist.
Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?
My friend John, for his altruism and utter devotion to a set of spiritual principles.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
Prayer and meditation.
What’s your hidden talent?
I took piano lessons for 10 years when I was younger. I still play, but not as much as I would like.
What’s your biggest job perk?
I don’t have to worry about making it to the gym after work.
What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
Taiko Sushi—I love their Atlantic Dream roll.
And finally, customer service is…?
Creating an inspiring, motivating and supportive environment; also, committing to providing the highest quality service possible, and then surpassing expectations.
