What's Happening at the 2015 Folsom Pro Rodeo?

Extreme temperatures predicted for this week may have canceled the Folsom Pro Rodeo opening cattle drive down Sutter Street, but the full schedule events will continue, according to event officials. 

So, with Wednesday's cattle drive cancelation, the 55th annual Rodeo will officially get underway with the opening of the gates at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Dan Russell Arena, 200 Stafford St.

General admission for this years event are $19.50 for adults and for $15 children/seniors 62 and older. Special seating and packages are available, check here for more details. 

The Rodeo runs through Saturday, July 4 with the following schedule of events:

Thursday, July 2

  • 6 p.m. Gates open

  • 7 p.m. Roping Events

  • 8 p.m. Grand Entry & Riding Events

  • 8:30 p.m. American Flag arrives by parachute

  • 9:00 p.m. Mutton Busting/Motocross Act

  • 9:30 p.m. Spectacular Fireworks Display

  • 10 p.m. Live Music in Mike's Golden Spike Saloon with Dave Russell (times are approximate) There’s non-stop fun for all ages EVERY NIGHT at the Folsom Pro Rodeo including:
    • Rodeo clowns
    • Silver-dollar dig for children
    • Variety of food choices in the Cool Down Corral
    • Motocross freestyle daredevil Justin Ayres and his death defying back flip.
    • Mutton Busting
    • Wild rodeo action with bulls, broncs and cowboys
    • Rodeo queen and colorful horse drill team performances by the Painted Ladies
    • Nightly outstanding in-arena fireworks
    • Evening live music with the Dave Russell in the Golden Spike Saloon
    • Snag tasty treats like finger-lickin' BBQ sandwiches.  
    • Peruse vendors for the latest Western duds.
