2015 Wreath Project: Help Honor Our Fallen at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery

In October, 2006, a new national cemetery opened in Dixon, and about 300 wreaths were placed on gravesites there in December, in honor of the Fallen resting at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. This year marks the tenth year of honoring those Fallen and there are an estimated 16,700 wreaths needed now to commemorate each gravesite. Multiple fundraising events are conducted throughout the year, raising funds to purchase the fresh wreaths for this public wreath-laying event. Donations from many civic groups, clubs and businesses, along with public contributions, combine to create this heartfelt community event remembering the sacrifices of our Fallen, and their families, during the holidays.
There are a few ways to help with this effort; you can make a donation and/or sign-up for our email list to keep current on the Wreath Project and other volunteer opportunities at SVNC during the year. The wreaths cost $8 each, whatever you can contribute is appreciated. Send checks to: RememberAVet, PO Box 773, Winters, CA, 95694 or donate online at HYPERLINK "http://www.gofundme.com/2015WreathProject" www.gofundme.com/2015WreathProject. To receive regular updates about this annual Wreath Project, join the email group by sending a message to HYPERLINK "mailto:email@example.com" firstname.lastname@example.org and visit the website at HYPERLINK "http://www.wreathproject.org" www.wreathproject.org.
All ages are invited and encouraged to attend and participate in the wreath-laying ceremony Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 9 AM in Dixon, rain or shine. Wreaths may also be picked up the week prior to the public event for family and friends wanting a more private remembrance (check the website for dates/times to pick up those wreaths). You need not donate to attend or pick up a wreath for early placement, and the wreaths are all purchased in advance and supplied to volunteers that day. It is an event you and your family will never forget!
Thank you in advance for your support of this terrific community project! Please help spread the word about this project…that’s what keeps it going! For questions, call Curtis (707.761.3343) or Susie (707.249.5852).
