PRESCHOOL FITNESS PROGRAMS; AGES 3-6Classes for this age group focus on coordination, motor skills and elementary skills; selections include swim lessons, soccer, tennis, taekwondo, basketball and dance. Many of the programs require parent participation.
YOUTH AND TEEN FITNESS PROGRAMS; AGES 5-18Classes (selections include taekwondo, dance, soccer, tennis, football, wrestling, archery, basketball, fencing, baseball, futsal, volleyball and swimming) provide an introduction to the fundamental skills required for each sport and teach the principles of teamwork and sportsmanship.
ADULT FITNESS PROGRAMSTry out a new activity or build on existing skills, relieve stress and meet new people; offerings include dance, yoga, tai chi, tennis, lap swim, aquacise and various sports leagues. Some of the programs are ongoing due to their popularity, and mature teens may sometimes enroll.
SENIOR FITNESS PROGRAMSPrograms for seniors exercise the mind and body and serve as a valuable social outlet. Many help participants avoid injury by building and maintaining strength, balance and flexibility. Selections include yoga, tai chi, Zumba, aquacise, a “Forever Fit” series, and the guided Walk and Talk program that takes participants on tours of Folsom’s beautiful recreational trails. Drop-in pickleball continues to be a very popular program, with beginner through advanced classes and tournaments offered. Seniors may also enroll in adult fitness programs and sports leagues.
OUTDOOR WORKOUTSFolsom’s 38-mile network of beautiful paved recreational trails provides convenient access for walking, running or cycling workouts. Download a trails map from the city’s website.
FAMILY FITNESS EVENTSTake part in the second annual Love My Mom 5K run or walk on May 7, and join the fun at the 33rd annual Run with Nature on May 14.
