June 4 / Serrano, El Dorado Hills
At this fund-raiser for the Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado County, over 120 attendees stepped into gardens that had been magically transformed into summer wonderlands for an enchanting evening featuring live music, signature drinks, an ice cream bar and a gourmet food truck. Proceeds totaled $19,000 and will support the opening of a new facility in El Dorado County.

Charity Golf Tournament
June 20 / Serrano Country Club, El Dorado Hills 
This day of fun on the green, held by the El Dorado Hills Chamber, offered fellow golfers lunch, drinks on the course, dinner, an awards banquet, contests and more. With the funds raised, the Chamber plans to grant $5,000 worth of scholarships to deserving graduating seniors continuing their education.

Bike Rodeo
June 11 / Saint Andrews Drive, El Dorado Hills 
The El Dorado Hills Community Services District lassoed kids of all ages with a mission to fuel bike fever within the younger community at this successful all-about-cycling event that offered participants challenging obstacle courses, amusing biking games and basic bike safety tips; the youngsters also enjoyed a free lunch and swag bags.

Art Auction

June 4 / Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento
One of the most distinguished auctions in the Sacramento area, this art-filled event upheld its prestige with a disco-themed evening featuring works by the region’s most renowned artists. Guests, donned in their finest disco-era threads, indulged in a fabulous cocktail reception followed by a gourmet dinner, silent and live auctions, and upbeat music performed by Disco Revolution.

Aerojet Rocketdyne Wounded Veteran Run
May 30 / Vista Del Lago High School, Folsom
With a goal to raise awareness and donations of veteran-supporting nonprofits, the runners of this fifth annual race achieved that and more. Event proceeds totaled to $50,000, which will aid this year’s beneficiaries, Semper Fi Fund and America’s Fund, organizations that provide immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 veterans.

Grants Gala

June 3 / Lakehills Covenant Church, El Dorado Hills
Women’s Fund El Dorado (WFED), a collective giving organization that pools donations to enhance the quality of life on the western slope of El Dorado County, delivered a delicious buffet dinner to its 200 attendees and celebrated the announcement of the 2016 grant and scholarship recipients at this annually held gala. Six grants, totaling $60,000, were awarded to local nonprofits selected through voting by the WFED membership.

The Blind Barrel
June 25 / Boeger Winery, Placerville
To celebrate the Repeal of Prohibition with the passage of the 21st Amendment, local winery owners and guests masqueraded in period garb while satiating their taste buds with the area’s finest wines, competing for prizes and dancing to a rousing swing band at this inaugural event presented by the El Dorado Winery Association. Profits raised through the “Blind Bottle Grab” game approximated $1,000 and will benefit the Motherlode Rehabilitation Enterprises (M.O.R.E), a local nonprofit helping persons with disabilities.

El Dorado County Fair: Cowboys and Carousels
June 16-19 / El Dorado County Fairgrounds Placerville
This four-day fair welcomed over 60,000 visitors, cowboys or not, to celebrate Western living and old-fashioned fun. Action-packed attractions, popular country tribute bands, mutton busting, obstacle courses, cotton candy and funnel cakes, and a Livestock Auction were just a few of the amusements that fairgoers enjoyed at the event that raised approximately $200,000 for local nonprofits.

Highway 50 Wagon Train Family Fun Day
June 10 / Pollock Pines/Camino Community Center, Pollock Pines
In commemoration of the Great Western Migration, the Pollock Pines/Camino Community Center partnered with the Highway 50 Association to bring this 67th annual event back to the Pollock Pines region after a 10-year absence. The near 1,000 attendees experienced a full day of entertainment consisting of wagon rides, gold panning and mountain men demonstrations, a poker tournament, crafters and vintage vendors, along with live music. All proceeds will benefit the center.

Big Brothers Big Sisters BIG Benefest 

June 3 / Christa McAuliffe Park, Cameron Park
At this second annual fund-raising event, 400 guests were spoiled by Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Dorado County with a festive evening of jam-packed entertainment, including live music from Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads and Jonny Mojo, plus food trucks, wine tasting, a beer garden and a special appearance by Los Angeles BIG of the Year and the co-owner of Cousins Maine Lobster (as seen on Shark Tank) Sabin Lomac. All proceeds will support Big Brothers Big Sisters.
