Moms deserve the best (and more) on Mother’s Day. Here are some local ways to say, “thank you,” “I love you,” and “you’re the greatest mom in the world.”
Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend at the El Dorado Hills Art, Beer and Wine Festival at El Dorado Hills Town Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be art, music and food, plus beer and wine tastings (noon to 4:30 p.m.) galore.
Moms and children alike will love El Dorado Musical Theatre’s rendition of Mary Poppins at the Harris Center from May 5-7 and 11-14. Show times vary.
Cast a spell over Mother’s Day with a decadent dinner and spellbinding magic show at Mystique Dining in Folsom.
The Painted Cork in Folsom is offering paint and sip Lady Bug, Sunflower (family-friendly; ages 7 and up) and Poppy sessions on May 14, where you can bring drinks and snacks and paint on a canvas.
On May 13, head to Whole Foods in the Palladio at Broadstone for a family-friendly Love My Mom 5K. After, enjoy vendor booths, music and light refreshments.
True Rest Float Spa in Folsom will have Mom totally rested and rejuvenated after she weightlessly floats in a salt bath.
Auburn Symphony presents a Masterworks concert, Mother’s Day Spectacular, on May 14. Listen to pieces by Gabrieli, Grieg and Richard Strauss at the UC Davis Mondavi Center from 3-5:30 p.m.
TBF Racing is conducting a Mother’s Day All Women Triathlon/Duathlon and 5K (the “coed 5K” option allows husbands, boyfriends, brothers and sons to race, too). Swim, bike and run the course with loved ones at Granite Beach.
Give Mom the IMAX experience with a trip to Regal El Dorado Hills Stadium 14 and IMAX. May releases include Paris Can Wait, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Wedding Plan and Snatched.
