FOODIE FIND: Salsa's Taqueria

Nov 22, 2017 01:11PM

Opening their doors only a few short months ago, Salsa's Taqueria has already perfected the concept of offering authentic fare with friendly, fast food-like service. Whether you’re looking for a traditional Mexican meal or a place to indulge in Happy Hour and some tasty tacos, Salsa’s delivers. I headed over for lunch and was instantly at ease as soon as I walked in, thanks to a clean and modern aesthetic, open seating, and photos of the dishes displayed throughout. This feeling of ease was quickly replaced with astonishment, however, as I looked over their massive menu. Apart from traditional items (burritos, nachos, fajitas, tostadas, etc. with all the go-to meats), they also have seafood selections, a vegan burrito, all-day breakfast items and a complimentary chips and salsa bar. I decided to go “simple” and order the Carnitas entrée plate. My impression of it being a modest meal was immediately shattered when the plate was set in front of me. Fresh flour tortillas were served alongside juicy-on-the-inside, crispy-and-golden-on-the-outside carnitas, tomatoes, lettuce, guacamole, beans and rice. Washed down with a cold Modelo, it was perfecto. I’ll definitely be back to eat my way through the rest of the menu.
