The 10 Spot: Summer Camps

Leighton Dance Project Summer Dance Camps. LDP’s numerous summer camps include Unicorn Paradise (July 9-13; 9 a.m.-noon; ages 3-5), Petite Super Star (July 30-August 3; 9 a.m.-noon; ages 4-6), #MiniRemix Camp (July 23-27; 10 a.m.-noon; ages 6-8), Pajama Jam (August 25; 5-8 p.m.; ages 7+), Bro Camp (July 16-20; 9 a.m.-noon; ages 6+), and more. 

Brighton Private School Monster Mayhem Summer Camp. From June 4 to August 3, children will make lifelong friends and build self-esteem as they go on field trips (swimming, skating, bowling, etc.) and partake in activities like science demos, dance shows, magic shows, carnivals, obstacle courses, contests, and more.

Sacramento State Aquatic Center Hello Summer Camp. For some water fun, head to the Aquatic Center to learn sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, and boating safety on June 4-5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This camp is for ages 7-17. 

The Gift of Kids Summer Camp. Kids from preschool through fifth grade can enjoy themed fun and learn about dinosaurs, different countries, anatomy, space, and sports. The Adventure Club will take kids on field trips to water parks, movies, hikes, museums, local businesses, etc. Both camps start June 1 and end in August.

Tennis with Cole Summer Camp. Learn to play tennis in a safe, healthy, and fun environment with Coach Cole at Bud and Artie Davies Park in Folsom from June 4 to July 13. The camp includes professional instruction, individual and team challenges, ball machine practice, drills and games, swimming, a pizza party, prizes, a T-shirt, group picture, and a professional exhibition

Busy Bees Preschool Summer Camps. Ages 3-5 are encouraged to build curiosity, creativity, and camaraderie at the Science Camp (June 18-21), Animal Planet Camp (June 25-28), Fiesta Fun Camp (July 9-12), and Artful Antics Camp (July 16-19). Materials and a daily snack are included. 

St. Francis Summer Programs. Girls in grades 5-8 can sign up for Camp Troubie (June 11-July 6) focusing on academics and enrichment activities, and Musical Theatre Camp (June 11-July 6) focusing on acting, singing, and dancing, culminating in a mini-production. Girls in grades 2-12 can learn volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer, and lacrosse at Sports Camp. 

Kid’s Camp Summer Camps. Tons of activities and daily events are to be found here, including Dumbo’s Crazy Circus in June, Micky’s Fourth of July Celebration in July, and Dory’s Ocean Exploration in August, to name a few. No reservation is necessary; for ages up to 12. 

Folsom Lake College and Harris Center for the Arts Youth Summer Academy. Learn, create, and make memories this summer with programs like Youth Dance Academy (June 11-14; ages 8-15), Youth Music Production Academy (July 9-13; ages 13-18), Youth Music and Choir Academy (July 23-27; ages 12-18), and IT_Girls, a programming and engineering camp for girls in grades 9-12.

Equine Unlimited Horse Camp. Ages 5-17 can join this camp in Rescue and take part in daily grooming, tacking up and caring for a horse or pony, crafts, and swimming. Sessions are June 4 through August 3 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; helmets, snacks, drinks, and lunch are provided.
