Catch All: Tots for Toys

Nov 20, 2018 10:48AM

Head to Folsom’s Historic District on December 8 from 1-5 p.m. as they host their second annual Tots for Toys. That’s right: tater tots for donated toys! “Toys for Tots is a beloved organization that works to ensure all kids have a gift on Christmas,” explains Folsom Historic District Association’s Executive Director Judy Collinsworth. And when you donate a toy to Toys for Tots at a participating business, you’ll receive a complimentary order of tater tots. “Spread some joy and eat some mighty tasty tater tots along the way!” continues Collinsworth. Last year, Brian Knadle of Marly and Moo suggested the idea of giving away tater tots to those who donated Christmas toys for children in need; Matt Garrido from Heckle Alehouse came up with the name, and each participating business collected an entire barrel of toys. This year, they’re hoping to exceed the donations. Participating restaurants include Marly and Moo, Hacienda Del Rio, Snooks Chocolate Factory and Heckle Alehouse. Bring in one toy per business, which, yes, means multiple orders of tater tots! The benefits are endless: Tots receive toys, you receive tots, and our local businesses thrive.
