Human Nature

Artistic Director Jacob Gutierrez-Montoya and Hawkins Contemporary Dance Company

Nature is a beautiful thing. When you think of the word “nature” you probably think trees, grass, ocean, mountains or desert, but when it is paired with the word “human”, the meaning shifts. It becomes introspective, how do we or others think, feel or act. “Human Nature” is an exploration of the two actualities inspiring each other. A contemporary dance work showcasing the connections we have to each other as humans and our human response to the beauty of nature. This re-imagining of a crowd favorite will be performed by the Hawkins Contemporary Jazz Company, a pre-professional youth dance company based in Folsom, CA. It will feature 80 dancers—including 25 dancers returning from the 2015 original production. These young artists will inspire you with their passion and take you to a place that allows you to simply be, a floating leaf riding this weather pattern we call life.
